I’ve heard there are a lot of homes being built in El Centro, but I haven’t heard anything about it being the next Palm Springs. Of course, that doesn’t mean it won’t happen.
But here’s my opinion…
Palm Springs is within about 2 hours of San Diego, Orange, and L.A. counties. El Centro appears to be 30-60 minutes further from Orange County, and almost 2 hours further from L.A. So I think El Centro is too far from those areas to ever approach the popularity of Palm Springs as a vacation destination.
I HAVE heard “talk” that, like Temecula, El Centro could some day be a commuter community to San Diego if high-speed rail is ever built to connect the areas.
Regarding Pahrump, I don’t a thing. Sorry.
