“Gary, as you know the market has changed drastically in the past year. It’s gone from a seller’s to a buyer’s market. My question is whether I should buy in a buyer’s market. What do you think?”
***ANSWER:
Here’s the funny thing. When we had an overheated seller’s market 2000-2005, many people said they were waiting to buy when things slowed down…i.e., a buyer’s market.
Now in today’s cooler buyer’s market, many of those same people say they’re waiting for the market to improve…i.e. a seller’s market.
Huh?
Stop procrastinating. If you and I knew how to time the market, we’d be rich. We don’t. So if you want to buy a home now and plan to keep it a few years, go for it.
So what if you just miss buying at the exact bottom? You’re certainly NOT buying at the top. And at least you’ve got a lot of homes to choose from and can find one you love at a great price.
